Optimized to work inside ActivPrimary and created for K-5 learners, Kidspiration® 2 provides an easy way to apply the proven principles of visual learning. Students build graphic organizers by combining pictures, text and spoken words to represent thoughts and information. Younger learners develop early literacy skills, and more advanced students improve comprehension skills and organize their ideas for writing.

Develop thinking and categorizing skills
Using Kidspiration 2, students build concept maps, diagrams and webs. These visual tools help them synthesize, analyze and evaluate information. The special SuperGrouper® tool helps early learners sort and categorize.

Enhance writing skills
Students use Kidspiration 2 to progress through the writing process, developing well-organized stories and reports. In Picture View, they create graphic organizers to brainstorm and organize ideas, then transfer work to Writing View to develop a draft. Projects are then easily finalized in a word processor.

The leading K-5 tool for creating graphic organizers now offers even more ways to use the power of the picture to support emerging readers and writers. The new Kidspiration 2 includes Symbol Maker for drawing, unlimited SuperGrouper® images, a Venn diagram option and symbols displayed next to corresponding words in Writing View. These added capabilities provide more opportunities for students to express themselves visually and to recognize the connection between words and their meanings.

And that’s not all. 75 ready-made activities, one-click transfer to word processors and additional management tools enhance the effectiveness of Kidspiration 2 for teachers and students. Across the curriculum, Kidspiration 2 offers new ways for teachers to meet standards and improve learning outcomes.

Draw to express thoughts.
To support emergent writers, Kidspiration 2 now includes the powerful Symbol Maker drawing tool. Using a simple interface, students can express their creativity and individuality by drawing and painting their own symbols. With one click, students can integrate these personalized symbols into graphic organizers, enhancing the ability to communicate visually.

Add more visual meaning to grouping.
Two new SuperGrouper capabilities offer unlimited ways to categorize ideas. First, with one simple step, any symbol can become a shape that designates a group. For example, students might place items for “school” into a backpack, rather than a plain circle or box. In this way, the activity becomes more engaging and meaningful.

Second, a Venn diagram option has been added. This time-honored visual format gives students a way to more precisely show similarities and differences.

Pair words and symbols to make the literacy connection.
In Writing View, pictures are now displayed next to corresponding words. This reinforces the relationship between known language and a meaningful image. As always, students can add speech support by choosing to use the Listen tool.
