Well-matched components at savings




By now, you probably realize that the Promethean ActivBoard together with its ActivStudio software form the foundation for an ActivClassroom. But, when you look at the ActivClassroom Solution Overview, you can see that an ActivClassroom is more than a Promethean ActivBoard. It is made up of a full set of components that are integrated into one extremely functional teaching solution. Some of those components are manufactured by Promethean and others are not like the projector, audio system, laptop or document camera.


Matching the right components

Matching the right non-Promethean components with those from Promethean is critical to the functionality of the entire ActivClassroom system. For example, one very popular type of projector works beautifully in home theatre systems, but it produces dreadful color accuracy in the ActivClassroom environment. Other projector brands make it impossible to replace the bulb in a ceiling-mounted projector without taking the projector down altogether. We will make sure that your school system avoids common pitfalls and that your classrooms will have the right mix of matched products using the right installation methods that will ultimately deliver the full benefits of your ActivClassroom.


The basic components found in every bundle.

Every bundle includes an ActivBoard, the latest version of ActivStudio software, a Sanyo 2000 ANSI lumen XVGA projector, the installation hardware kit for a standard installation (ceiling-mounted projector) and professional installation labor. Those components along with the teacher’s Notebook PC or an iBook will form the most basic ActivClassroom… and hence, that is our Starter Bundle. Since many teachers have a suitable laptop already, we do not automatically include a laptop in our bundles. However, a new Notebook PC with a combo DVD/CD-RW is a very frequent add-on purchase.


Making the procurement process easier

To make the procurement process easier for our customers, we offer a selection of four pre-configured, turn-key bundles to choose from… the Starter, the Starter + Audio, the Student-Response and the Ultimate. Of course, we will custom build bundles to meet the unique needs of your various classrooms…but typically our customers find the features they are looking for in one or more of these four bundles. Cost-savings and other bundle advantages

The more robust the bundle is… the greater the discount that comes with it. In addition with every bundle purchase, we extend the original 3-year ActivBoard warranty to 5 years… and we will provide FREE ActivStudio software upgrades for 5 years from the date of purchase.


Bringing in real-time assessment capabilities

If you listen to the teachers who are utilizing this technology, time and time again they will tell you how important the remote quizzing capabilities are to this teaching system. Students love the egg-shaped ActiVotes because they are fun to use. They actually want to be quizzed. Imagine that. Once teachers become acquainted with the technology, they universally like to employ ActiVotes and an ActivSlate in their classrooms. Schools that seek to start out with assessment capabilities from day one in their ActivClassrooms gravitate to the student-response bundle, which includes a set of 32 ActiVotes and one ActivSlate. Those school systems that are more restricted budget-wise can deploy the Starter Bundle (we recommend the Starter Bundle + Audio) and add the ActiVotes and ActivSlates the following school year.
