Teachers are not limited to the resources that come with ActivStudio. They can add their own and put them in a sharable location to collaborate with other teachers!
The ActivStudio resource search engine allows the teachers to quickly locate the desired resource. This engine allows users to search for ANY type of resource such as flipcharts, backgrounds, annotations, graphic or photo images that are installed in ANY place on the computer or on the computer's network. POWER TOOLSActivStudio also includes "power tools" such as a fully functioning protractor, dice and ruler tools. Both the protractor and ruler are translucent and can be positioned over any object to do physical measurements of these items in a whole group setting for activities such as measuring the degree of tilt of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The dice tool not only allows the teacher to create exciting games for the students using the built-in resources for making board games, but is also excellent for studying probability in math classes. Finally, Promethean updated the Camera tool to allow the teacher to choose specifically which part of the image they need to become an object. SHARED LESSON PLANSThere are countless resources that exist outside of the ActivStudio software that can be utilized in your ActivClassroom from sources on the web or 3rd party sources like Brain Pop or United Streaming. One of the most valuable resources is Promethean Planet. Here you will find downloadable flipcharts and Web Resources that have been submitted by ActivBoard Users. The web links offered may be suitable for direct use with the ActivBoard or may offer downloadable resources that can be used with the ActivBoard. The flipcharts/lesson plans are searchable by subject matter. We actively encourage our users to offer resources to help build this invaluable resource. To submit resources you must be a registered user, registration is free and simple.
"Planning lessons for the ActivBoard became a compulsion for me. They cheered every time the whiteboard was listed on the daily schedule. We happily clicked, dragged, wrote, drew and created with and on the ActivBoard. It was everything I had ever imagined or hoped for. I created some lessons, but there were hundreds of lessons and activities already available." Brenda Wolters, Teacher Deer Park Elementary School
