While either a notebook or desktop computer will drive the Promethean Activclassroom, Logical Choice and the manufacturer suggest a notebook computer for teachers. The reason is apparent. With a notebook, teachers have the freedom to develop lesson plans away from the Activboard. Remaining productive is essential for teachers wherever they are in and around the school campus… in their classroom, the library, the cafeteria as well as home and on the road. Teachers are graduating from the traditional desktop computers to notebooks that offer the same functionality, expandability and usability in a fraction of the space. We also recommend using a notebook with built-in wireless capabilities and combination DVD and CD-RW drives. Having a DVD drive in the notebook computer along with AudioGear’s Multimedia Stereo Speaker System enables the teacher to play DVDs to the class right on the Activboard.

Activstudio, the Promethean software that runs your Activclassroom, comes in both a Windows version and an Apple O/S version. Logical Choice is not an Apple dealer, but we do offer an excellent notebook PC, the HP Compaq nx7400, that is well suited for teachers to use in conjunction with their Activclassroom. This model offers solid performance, affordable, robust processing power and wireless connectivity at under $1000. HP quality and reliability helps to reduce maintenance, repair and support costs. Of course, if you prefer another HP model, we can custom configure any HP notebook model you wish.
